Fred Hampton was the Chairman of the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense of Illinois. He is one of the few courageous leaders that the Black community can call their own. The Black Panther Party was responsible for providing free food for the community, training their communities to defend themselves, and even educating their communities on the inequities surrounding them. Despite all the altruistic efforts of the Black Panthers, the U.S. Government labeled the Black Nationalist group terrorists and looked at them as threats. On December 4, 1969, Hampton was assassinated while with his pregnant girlfriend by the police & the FBI.

He was only 21 years old.
